RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – The friendship and defense cooperation between Indonesia and Brunei Darussalam were once again strengthened thru the participation of the Indonesian Air Force (TNI AU) in the series of events commemorating the 65th Anniversary of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF).
Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal TNI M. Tonny Harjono, attended a commemorative ceremony held at Rimba Air Base, Brunei Darussalam, on Sunday, May 31, 2026. The presence of the Air Force Chief of Staff (KSAU) along with military leaders and representatives of the armed forces from various friendly countries symbolizes the close defense cooperation in the region.
The ceremony was directly led by the Sultan Brunei Darussalam, Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin and attended by members of the royal family and high-ranking officials of the Brunei Darussalam government.
The series of commemorations began with a military parade involving 1,065 personnel from the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, which includes the Royal Brunei Land Force, the Royal Brunei Navy, and the Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAF). Various defense assets were also showcased in the event.
The day before, the Jupiter Aerobatic Team (JAT) of the Indonesian Air Force conducted their first training session in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam, on Saturday, May 30, 2026, in preparation for their performance at the 65th anniversary of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF).

On that occasion, JAT performed an aerial demonstration in front of the Sultan of Brunei and the invited guests. The presence of the proud TNI AU aerobatic team was special because it was the only foreign aerobatic team invited to perform at the 65th anniversary of the RBAF.
The participation of the Indonesian Air Force (TNI AU) in the event reflects the close bilateral relations between Indonesia and Brunei Darussalam while also strengthening professional military interactions between the two countries. This cooperation is part of a joint effort to maintain stability, security, and trust in the Southeast Asian region.
