RRI.CO.ID, Mecca - Member of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) Hajj Supervisory Team, Lisda Hendrajoni, conducted a monitoring visit to directly monitor the condition of Hajj pilgrims from the West Sumatra 1 electoral district staying at a hotel in Makkah, Saudi Arabia. The visit aimed to gather concerns and direct feedback regarding the quality of Hajj services this year.
Based on her observations, she stated that the pilgrims were generally in good health and highly enthusiastic about welcoming the wukuf ritual in Arafah.
“Alhamdulillah (Thank God), today we were able to meet and connect with our brothers and sisters from the West Sumatra 1 electoral district. We saw that, thank God, they are healthy, happy, and very enthusiastic about heading to Arafah. God willing, they will depart for Arafah this afternoon,” Lisda said in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, on Monday, 25 May 2026, as quoted by dpr.go.id.
During the monitoring visit, Lisda actively asked the pilgrims for input regarding aspects of the services that still need improvement. One of the evaluation points raised concerned the pilgrims’ discontent with the food menu, which they felt needed more variety.
“Perhaps there was only a little feedback about the food. Since they have been here for quite some time, they are getting a bit bored, and perhaps improvements are needed in terms of menu variety,” she said.
Regarding technical preparations ahead of the Armuzna phase (Arafah, Muzdalifah, and Mina), Lisda confirmed that pilgrims at the hotel would follow the tanazul and murur schemes. This year, the murur scheme has experienced a substantial capacity increase from 50,000 pilgrims to 80,000 pilgrims overall.
“From the reports of the assistants and group leaders, we learned that all pilgrims staying at this hotel are included in the tanazul and murur schemes. Hopefully there will be no further changes so everything proceeds according to plan. We can see that for the murur scheme, there has been an additional 30,000 pilgrims this year, from previously 50,000 to now 80,000 pilgrims, including those staying at this hotel,” Lisda explained.
Regarding accommodation facilities, she assessed that the infrastructure and facilities in both Madinah and Makkah have improved significantly. Although the hotel occupied by the West Sumatra 1 pilgrims is considered one of the farthest from the mosque, the pilgrims did not express significant complaints as long as the shuttle bus service operated on time.
“Even though this hotel is said to be the farthest, I saw that the pilgrims did not complain, as long as the transportation taking them to the mosque is not late,” she added.
Concluding her statement, she expressed strong appreciation for the performance of the Hajj officers, whom she considered more professional and united this year. According to her, the comprehensive training programs succeeded in building strong coordination in the field and minimizing inter-agency conflicts.
