Indonesians in Malaysia Gather for Eid al-Adha Prayers at Embassy

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - A spirit of togetherness marked Eid al-Adha 1447 Hijri as Indonesian citizens gathered at the Indonesian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Wednesday to perform the celebration prayers in congregation.

Worshippers began arriving as early as 7:00 a.m. local time, filling the Hassanudin Hall on the embassy’s ground floor.

The prayer commenced at around 8:10 a.m., led by Rector of Universiti Muhammadiyah Malaysia (UMAM) and Universitas Muhammadiyah Riau (UMRI), Saidul Amin, who served as both khatib and imam.

Indonesia’s Ambassador to Malaysia, Raden Dato’ Mohammad Iman Hascarya Kusumo, joined embassy staff and the wider Indonesian community in the prayers.

In his remarks, Ambassador Iman emphasized that the values of sacrifice and sincerity should extend beyond the Eid celebration into daily life. He also expressed gratitude to Indonesians in Malaysia for their active role in upholding the nation’s reputation and fostering unity.

“I pray that Indonesia will always be blessed with security, progress, and peace by Allah SWT. May we all be granted health, happiness, and protection,” Ambassador Iman said, as quoted by Antara. ***
