RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Iran’s ambassador to Indonesia, Mohammad Boroujerdi, said his country has emerged with “victory” following more than 40 days of conflict with the United States and Israel, culminating in peace talks held in Islamabad, Pakistan.

Boroujerdi argued that the outcome forced Washington to accept a 10-point framework proposed by Tehran as the basis for ceasefire negotiations.

“Iran succeeded in compelling America to accept the conditions. This shows the world that the U.S., reluctantly, agreed to Iran’s demands,” he said during a book launch commemorating the late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in Jakarta on Saturday, April 11, 2026, as quoted by Antara.

According to Boroujerdi, Iran thwarted what he described as a planned “blitz war” by the U.S. and Israel, which he claimed included attempts to target Ayatollah Khamenei directly. Instead, Iran sustained counterattacks for 40 days, striking 17 U.S.-Israeli military bases and sending missiles into Israeli cities.

Iran has since tabled ten ceasefire conditions, including recognition of its right to enrich uranium, lifting of U.S. sanctions, withdrawal of American forces from the Middle East, and an end to hostilities across the region, including Lebanon.

Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Majid Takht-Ravanchi confirmed that the framework has been accepted as the foundation for upcoming negotiations with Washington, according to Iranian state media reports cited by Anadolu Agency.

He stressed that while Iran welcomes diplomacy, talks must not serve as a pretext for renewed aggression.

The ambassador framed the development as both a military and political success, asserting that Iran’s resilience had shifted the balance of negotiations. ***
