RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesian Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) has successfully locked in 13 strategic Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) during the INNOPROM 2026 international industrial exhibition in Russia, designed to accelerate industrial downstreaming, draw foreign direct investment, spur technology transfers, and expand the footprint of national manufacturing across the Eurasian market.

The comprehensive breakthroughs follow Indonesia’s high-profile participation as the designated partner country at the massive industrial expo, which ran from July 6 to 9, 2026, in Yekaterinburg, Russia.

"Indonesia's participation as a partner country at INNOPROM 2026 has strengthened the position of the national industry in the Eurasian market. This is evident from the high enthusiasm of industrial players from the Eurasian market who want cooperation with the national industry and have even signed MoUs throughout our presence in Russia," Industry Minister Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita said in a confirmed release on Saturday, July 11, 2026, as quoted by Antara.

Minister Agus revealed that the ministry maximized its diplomatic leverage by orchestrating eight high-level bilateral meetings with the governments of Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, and Tajikistan, alongside the regional administrations of Russia’s Chelyabinsk, Kirov, and Sverdlovsk Oblasts.

These state-level dialogues yielded structural commitments in trade expansions, supply chain integration, industrial zone optimization, and advanced engineering human resource development.

The cross-border consensus materialized into 13 formal MoUs. Among the government-to-government (G2G) agreements was a cornerstone pact between the Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, supplemented by localized development agreements with Central Asian states and Russian regional industrial centers.

Simultaneously, the industrial mission generated critical business-to-business (B2B) commercial agreements. The Indonesian Shipbuilding and Offshore Industry Association (IPERINDO), PT PCM Kabel Indonesia, PT Athira Maritim Indonesia, and the Indonesian Marine Component Industry Association (PIKKI) collectively sealed a maritime manufacturing pact with Russia's United Industrial Corporation Ak Bars.

Additional heavy-industry deals included an MoU between PT Minang Jordanindo and heavy-equipment manufacturing giant CHETRA LLC, alongside a cross-border ecosystem alignment between the Indonesian Industrial Estate Association (HKI) and the Association of Clusters, Technology Parks and Special Economic Zones of the Russian Federation (ACTPRF).

According to the ministry, these frameworks establish immediate operational baselines for high-value downstream sectors, including heavy machinery, automotive engineering, metallurgy, chemical industrial networks, halal manufacturing ecosystems, and mineral processing.

Kemenperin’s Director General for Resilience, Zoning, and International Industrial Access (KPAII), Tri Supondy emphasized that the international reception at the expo underscores the growing maturity and global credibility of the country's manufacturing capacity.

“The achievements attained by Indonesia during INNOPROM 2026 show that the national industry is increasingly trusted, and various collaborations established through this event are expected to open up more opportunities for investment, trade, and industrial collaboration that provide added value for strengthening Indonesia's manufacturing competitiveness,” Tri concluded. ***
