RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Three Indonesian Military (TNI) officers have successfully completed their Bachelor's (S1) and Master's (S2) degree programs at the National Defense Academy (NDA) of Japan. According to the official website of the Indonesian Navy, tnial.mil.id, on Monday, March 30, 2026, the graduation ceremony held in Yokosuka was personally presided over by Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi.

The graduates include Captain Ravega Rulianov Ruben, Second Lieutenant Baharuddin Zuhdi Romadhoni, and Second Lieutenant Bagas Tri Novanto. They earned their academic degrees in engineering after completing intensive studies conducted entirely in the Japanese language.

Ravega Rulianov Ruben achieved a significant milestone by earning a Master of Engineering in Earth and Ocean Sciences. He also secured the Best Poster Award at the Marine Acoustics of Japan conference and received the prestigious JAMSTEC Nakanishi Award.

Meanwhile, Ensign (N) Baharuddin Zuhdi Romadhoni was named one of the top international graduates of 2026. For his dedication, he was presented with the Special Award for International Students directly by the President of the NDA.

Non-academic achievements were also recorded by Second Lieutenant (AF) Bagas Tri Novanto, a graduate of the Electrical and Electronic Engineering program. He secured second place in the national Iaido championship specifically for the Japan Self-Defense Forces.

This overseas education program at the NDA is part of a strategic collaboration between the TNI Academy and the Indonesian Ministry of Defense. The initiative aims to strengthen Indonesia-Japan bilateral relations and produce high-quality human resources capable of serving as strategic bridges.

During their studies, international cadets are required to follow a curriculum taught in Japanese. Currently, several other TNI personnel are still undergoing education at the NDA, including Lieutenant Commander (N) Reza Prasetyawan and several other officers in the Bachelor's program.
