RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesian Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has deployed 1,356 Mina Task Force (Satgas Mina) personnel across key points to ensure the smooth implementation of the stoning of the jumrah ritual, scheduled from 11–13 Dhulhijjah 1447 H (May 28–30, 2026).
“The Mina Task Force is on standby to support services, monitoring, and crowd management. Their presence is meant to respond quickly to pilgrims’ needs on the ground,” said ministry spokesperson Maria Assegaff in a press briefing on Thursday, May 28.
The jumrah ritual in hajj pilgrimage is the symbolic stoning of the devil, performed by pilgrims in Mina, Saudi Arabia, by throwing pebbles at three stone pillars (Jamarat). It represents rejecting temptation and affirming obedience to God.
Thousands of Satgas Mina officers have been stationed at strategic locations, including Route 616, Route 533, Mina Al Wadi Hospital, Route 627, under Jalan Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, and the Muaisin tunnel.
“These posts guide Indonesian pilgrims on foot toward Jamarat, manage crowd flow during the stoning ritual, anticipate congestion, and ensure pilgrims remain on safe routes without taking risky shortcuts,” Maria explained.
The Hajj Organizing Committee (PPIH) has also prepared Mobile Crisis Rescue (MCR) units in Mina. These specialized teams and posts provide first aid, conduct emergency evacuations, and help ease crowd density during peak phases of the pilgrimage.
Maria further reminded pilgrims to remain inside their tents while waiting for the official schedule of the jumrah ritual. She urged them to prioritize health, especially under Mina’s hot daytime conditions.
“Drink plenty of water, eat regularly, use umbrellas, wear head coverings outdoors, and limit unnecessary physical activity,” she advised. (Diva Rifdah)
