RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - As Muslims in Indonesia and around the world observe the fasting month of Ramadan, Russian Ambassador to Indonesia Sergei Tolchenov in Jakarta has highlighted the spiritual values of reflection and solidarity as a bridge for stronger people-to-people and bilateral ties.

In a statement released by the embassy on Thursday, February 19, 2026, Ambassador Tolchenov emphasized the importance of contemplation, compassion and togetherness during Ramadan as foundations for social harmony and relations among nations.

“Ramadan is a time for reflection, compassion, and unity. Ramadan reminds us of the importance of patience, generosity, and mutual respect,” he said, as quoted by Antara.

He added that the holy month serves as a moment to reaffirm patience, generosity and respect within diverse societies, values he described as essential not only at the community level but also in fostering understanding between countries.

The ambassador also conveyed his prayers for peace, health and spiritual strength for Muslims observing the fast.

He also expressed hope that Ramadan would strengthen family harmony and deepen mutual understanding and goodwill between Russia and Indonesia. ***
