RRI.CO.ID., Jakarta - An Indonesian madrasah student has earned international recognition after being named the best participant in the Vogue Winter Break program in New York, United States. Ratu Dinara Nafeeza Nurdin, a student of MAN 4 Jakarta, stood out among nearly 200 participants from 30 countries.
The international program, organized by Vogue College of Fashion, brought together selected high school students from across the globe. It offered intensive immersion to the global fashion industry, covering business, communication, leadership, and creative idea development through classes, discussions, and collaborative projects.
Based on a press release received by RRI Voice of Indonesia in Jakarta, Friday, 13 February 2026, Dinara demonstrated active participation and delivered standout ideas throughout the program. Her insightful ideas, communication skills, and overall contribution earned her the best participant among peers from 30 countries.
“I realized that fashion and science are not separate. Science explains the ‘how,’ while fashion explains the ‘why.’ I don’t have to choose. I can become a bridge,” Dinara said in a written statement on Sunday.
In addition to receiving the top honor, she was selected as the closing ceremony speaker representing all participants. She emphasized that the courage to discover one’s identity on the global stage is crucial for young generations.
Dinara is also a recipient of a full scholarship from the United States Embassy through the Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study (KL-YES) program. The exchange initiative is designed to foster cross-cultural understanding and strengthen youth leadership development.
Her achievement adds to the growing list of accomplishments by Indonesian madrasah students at the international level. Education officials view her success as evidence that madrasah institutions can compete globally in diverse fields, including creative industries.
The recognition further highlights Indonesia’s commitment to nurturing globally minded youth. By bridging science and creativity, Dinara’s accomplishment reflects the expanding role of young Indonesians in international academic and professional arenas.
