RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Three students from state-run Islamic senior high school Madrasah Aliyah Negeri (MAN) 2 Kota Malang, East Java, have been selected to represent Indonesia at the 7th Lead Youth Conference (LYC) 2026, held in Chiang Rai, Thailand, from February 1–10.

Their departure was officially flagged off by School Principal Samsudin on Thursday, January 29, 2026. The students are accompanied by Ahmad Thohir Yoga, Head of the Language Development Center (LDC) and Coordinator of International Cooperation at MAN 2 Kota Malang.

They will join 50 participants from various countries in a program organized by the Chiang Rai Provincial Administration Organization Schools (CRPAOS). The three Indonesian delegates are Nevan Aldan Dzaky Adhwadyatna (Grade X-I), Laquinna Naiandra Anadinta (Grade X-I), and Khanza Ramadhan Putra Abian (Grade X-K).

Principal Samsudin praised the achievement, emphasizing that the students’ participation carries not only the name of their school but also the pride of Indonesia on the international stage.

“This is a golden opportunity for our students to learn, network, and prove that madrasah students can compete globally. We hope they will serve as ambassadors of both the school and the nation,” he said, as quoted on the Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs official website.

The 7th Lead Youth Conference brings together young delegates from Thailand, Indonesia, Japan, Myanmar, the Philippines, Vietnam, Cambodia, and India. The forum provides a platform for students worldwide to exchange ideas, collaborate, and present innovative solutions to global challenges.

Participants will engage in diverse activities, including SDG-based project presentations, seminars and workshops on AI in Education, cultural exchanges, group dynamics, and educational visits to institutions and cultural sites across Thailand.

Ahmad Thohir Yoga highlighted that the program reflects MAN 2 Kota Malang’s commitment to offering students international exposure in education and culture, while preparing them to become globally minded leaders.

“Our school consistently encourages students to take part in global forums. This is not only about achievements but also about shaping future leaders who think globally and act locally,” he explained.

One of the delegates, Laquinna Naiandra Anadinta, expressed her excitement at being part of the event. “This opportunity motivates me to keep learning, exchange cultures, and broaden my horizons with peers from different countries. I will do my best to bring home achievements that make MAN 2 Kota Malang, my parents, and teachers proud,” she said.

The participation of these students further strengthens MAN 2 Kota Malang’s reputation as a globally oriented institution, aligned with its flagship innovation program MADU MANJA (MAN 2 Kota Malang Menjelajah Dunia/MAN 2 Kota Malang Exploring the World), which focuses on language, leadership, and international student diplomacy. ***
