Indonesia promotes ASEAN tourism in ATF Travex

RRI.CO.ID, Philippines - Indonesia underscored its dedication to advancing the regional tourism sector through participation in the ASEAN Travel Exchange (ATF) TRAVEX 2026, one of ASEAN's premier business-to-business (B2B) tourism exchanges, taking place from January 28–30, 2026, at the Mactan Expo Center, Cebu, Philippines.
Tourism Minister Widiyanti Putri Wardhana, while inspecting the Indonesian Pavilion at ATF TRAVEX 2026 on Wednesday January 28, 2026, stated that Indonesia's presence at this event provides an opportunity to showcase national tourism strengths, strengthened by the integration of smart technology.
Meanwhile, Deputy for Marketing at the Ministry of Tourism, Ni Made Ayu Marthini, emphasized that ASEAN is not only Indonesia's closest market, but also the key driver of regional tourism growth, encouraging repeat trips, new experiences, and opportunities for cross-border collaboration.
According to a release received by Voice of Indonesia on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, in Jakarta, the data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the ASEAN market contributed significantly, accounting for 36.5 percent of all international tourist visits to Indonesia in the January–November 2025 period.
This achievement highlights ASEAN's vital role in fuelling short-haul travel, repeat visits, and year-round tourism sustainability.
Through ATF TRAVEX 2026, Tourism Minister Widiyanti believes that foreign tourist visits to Indonesia in 2026 will reach 16 to 17.6 million, supported by strong travel growth from ASEAN partners.
