RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesian House of Representatives Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Agency (BKSAP DPR RI) officially held a bilateral meeting with Albanian Ambassador Nikson Ballco at Nusantara Three Building, Senayan, Jakarta, on Wednesday,14 January 2026.

Deputy Chair of BKSAP DPR RI, Ravindra Airlangga, revealed that the meeting was the first step in strengthening bilateral relations between Indonesia and Albania, particularly in supporting the tourism sector by fulfilling the need for professional workers from Indonesia.

During the meeting, the Albanian delegation expressed great interest in the quality of Indonesian human resources to support their rapidly growing tourism industry. As a sign of their seriousness, the two countries have agreed on an initial commitment in the form of a letter of intent between the Albanian government and the Ministry of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia.

“They then stated that they intend to develop their tourism industry and, of course, need a lot of help and support. One of them is that they already have an agreement, a letter of intent with the Ministry of Labor regarding Indonesian migrant workers to work in the tourism sector,” Ravindra said.

Following up on this grand plan, he stated that he would immediately coordinate with the relevant authorities. The main focus of this coordination is to ensure that the protection mechanisms and technicalities of labor movement can run according to applicable procedures in order to guarantee the welfare of migrant workers in the tourism sector.
