KBRN, Jakarta: Indonesian House of Representatives Deputy Speaker Sufmi Dasco Ahmad announced that Indonesia will enhance its educational cooperation with the Russian government.

He revealed this after meeting with the Russian Ambassador to Indonesia, Sergei Gennadievich Tolchenov, in the House's Delegation Room, Jakarta, on Friday, February 7, 2025.

According to Dasco, this collaboration provided educational scholarships for both countries in 2025. The initiative aimed to improve the quality of human resources in both nations.

"This year, we are also preparing 250 scholarships for Indonesian students to study in Russia. We hope to receive around 500 applicants for these scholarships," said Dasco, as quoted by rri.co.id.

"We are certainly willing to increase the number of scholarships in the coming years to enhance the human resources quality of both countries," he added.

Dasco noted that educational and cultural cooperation could also include the exchange of local wisdom between the two nations.

This effort strengthened relationships by helping people learn about each other's cultures, thus boosting tourism visits.

"Earlier this week, we celebrated the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Russia. I am very pleased that we have a beneficial and diverse relationship," he said. ***
