UI’s FIA Strengthens Global Academic Leadership with Zhejiang University

RRI.CO.ID, Depok – Universitas Indonesia’s Faculty of Administrative Sciences (FIA UI) advanced its international collaboration by joining the Executive Development Program: Global Symposium on University Governance for Academic Leaders with Zhejiang University’s School of Public Affairs (SPA).
Held in Hangzhou, China, last week, the program gathered university leaders, academics, and researchers worldwide to discuss higher education governance, academic leadership, and strategies for global challenges.
During the symposium, Zhejiang University signed memoranda of understanding with eight Indonesian universities, facilitated by FIA UI and two other UI units. The agreements establish cooperation in education, research, faculty and student exchanges, and international academic programs.
Dean Retno Kusumastuti Hardjono emphasized that the partnership continues to grow through joint research, academic exchanges, publications, and expanded networks.
Earlier this year, FIA UI hosted 24 Zhejiang University students in Depok, while 12 FIA UI students will attend the ZJU‑UI Joint Summer School on Inclusive Development in Hangzhou this August.
Retno noted that future initiatives include joint conferences, summer programs, visiting scholars, public lectures, and doctoral examiners. “This partnership is not only about student mobility but also about strengthening academic leadership and university governance,” she said, as quoted on UI's official website on Tuesday. Through sustained collaboration, FIA UI is expanding its global academic network and reinforcing Indonesia’s role in advancing public administration and higher education governance internationally.
