Ministry Certifies 97,122 Affiliated Teachers Ahead of Eid al-Fitr

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta: The Ministry of Religious Affairs announced 97,122 teachers passed certification under its latest program. The announcement was made on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, in Jakarta. The teachers are participants of the fourth certification batch conducted since 2025.

This figure completes 304,661 teachers certified in batches one to three during 2025. The achievement reflects improved professionalism within the ministry’s education system. It also highlights the government’s commitment to strengthening teacher welfare.

Director General of Islamic Education, Amien Suyitno, described the result as positive news ahead of Eid. He said the achievement brings happiness to teachers and their families. He emphasized its importance during the festive period.

“This is good news ahead of Eid that brings its own happiness for teachers and their families,” he said.

Head of the National PPG Committee and Director of Islamic Religious Education, M. Munir, explained the broader purpose of certification. He said it ensures standardized professional competence for teachers. He added it provides proper recognition for their dedication.

“The graduation of 97,122 teachers in this fourth batch also emphasizes the Ministry of Religious Affairs’ real commitment to improving teacher welfare. With certified status, teachers are entitled to receive professional allowances according to regulations. This is expected to further motivate teachers to improve learning quality and strengthen their role as the main pillar of Indonesia’s human resource development,” he said.

The certified teachers come from 31 fields of study across Indonesia. These include Islamic education teachers in schools and madrasah, as well as teachers of Catholic, Christian, and Confucian education. The program reflects inclusivity within Indonesia’s diverse education system.

Munir said the achievement results from collaboration among various stakeholders. These include ministry units, universities organizing teacher professional education, and participating teachers. All participants completed the certification process responsibly.

He expressed hope the announcement will inspire continued professional improvement among teachers. It is expected to strengthen education service quality and dedication nationwide. The ministry reaffirmed its commitment to honoring teachers as key builders of the nation’s future.
