RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesian government is accelerating efforts to improve education quality through nationwide school revitalization projects and expanded support for teachers. The initiatives form part of President Prabowo Subianto’s broader agenda to improve human capital development, science, technology, education, health, and social inclusion.

Based on the release received by RRI VOI Sunday, June 14, 2026, Minister of Primary and Secondary Education Abdul Mu'ti, presented the progress of several priority education programs during a meeting with President Prabowo at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta. He said the government remains committed to ensuring access to quality education for students across the country.

According to the Minister, the School Revitalization Program achieved full implementation in 2025, reaching 16,167 educational institutions with a total budget exceeding Rp16.9 trillion approximately US$940 million. The initiative is aimed at improving learning facilities and creating better educational environments for students and teachers.

The 2026 phase of the program has also advanced significantly, with nearly 70 percent of the initial allocation already under implementation. A total of 11,744 schools have entered the construction stage, with many projects expected to be completed between July and August ahead of the 2026/2027 academic year.

“Through the self-management scheme, the revitalization program not only improves education quality but also generates significant economic benefits for communities. The program is expected to create around 1.1 million jobs with project durations ranging from three to eight months,” Abdul Mu’ti said.

Alongside infrastructure improvements, the ministry has expanded classroom digitalization efforts. In 2025, it distributed 288,865 Interactive Flat Panels to schools nationwide, with studies indicating that the devices have contributed to improved learning quality and higher student motivation.

The government is also increasing support for teachers through higher professional allowances and expanded scholarship opportunities. Certified civil servant teachers now receive professional allowances equivalent to one month’s basic salary, while certified non-civil servant teachers receive Rp2 million per month.

In addition, the ministry has broadened its teacher qualification program through scholarships for educators who have not yet obtained a bachelor's degree. After supporting 12,500 teachers in 2025, the government has allocated scholarships for 150,000 teachers in 2026, underscoring its commitment to strengthening Indonesia’s education workforce and improving learning outcomes nationwide.
