RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesian Ministry of Communication and Digital (Kemkomdigi) has urged teachers and parents to support children in the digital space.

Head of the Ministry's Human Resources Development Agency at Ministry of Communication and Digital, Boni Pudjianto, said that support is essential given the increasingly widespread threat of false information (hoaxes) online.

He added that AI-based content is becoming more prevalent and difficult to identify. With the current development of digital technology, he said, teachers and parents are the primary gateways in providing support to protect children from hoaxes, digital scams, and AI-based information manipulation, which are increasingly prevalent on the internet.

"Teachers must teach students how to distinguish between positive and negative information, especially misinformation," Boni wrote in a statement on Saturday, May 30, 2026, in Jakarta.

He emphasized teachers' role in children's digital well-being, highlighting their impact in shaping character and adaptability in the digital age.

Boni says teachers have an important role in the digital age. They help shape children's character and ensure equal opportunities for learning and expression online. (Misni Parjiati/EN)
