RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The leadership transition at Bank Indonesia (BI) is not expected to alter the outlook for Indonesia’s capital market.

The Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) remains optimistic that investor confidence will stay positive amid the change.

“We have also met with several foreign parties who still believe that the Indonesian market remains attractive to them. It’s just a matter of time,” said Director of Trading and Exchange Member Regulation at the IDX, Irvan Susandy, in Jakarta on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, as quoted by Antara.

Irvan noted that the Indonesian stock market continues to have competitive fundamentals compared with other Asian markets. “We will certainly rebound and continue to advance in the future,” he said.

He urged investors not to overreact to the leadership change, stressing that such transitions are part of Indonesia’s economic, political, and social dynamics.

“This year has indeed been very difficult for Indonesia -- not only for the capital market, but also for the economy. From the war to the MSCI and Moody’s ratings, and so on,” Irvan said.

Earlier, State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi announced that the President had accepted Perry Warjiyo’s resignation as BI Governor. The BI Board of Governors subsequently appointed Senior Deputy Governor Destry Damayanti as acting governor to ensure the central bank’s duties and authorities remain intact. ***
