RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – Indonesia is preparing to mark its 81st Independence Day with an immersive digital experience ecosystem that blends art, technology, music, and light.

The initiative, developed in collaboration with Imagispace, aims to deliver innovative cultural experiences while promoting creative talent across generations.

Imagispace previously achieved success through its partnership with teamLab at Future Park Jakarta, which sold more than 120,000 tickets, attracted over 400 influencers, and received coverage from more than 50 national and international media outlets.

These achievements highlight the potential of immersive experiences to drive growth in Indonesia’s creative economy.

Deputy Minister of Creative Economy, Irene Umar, said the ministry’s support for Imagispace reflects a broader effort to strengthen Indonesia’s digital art ecosystem.

“It’s not just about delivering engaging immersive experiences for the public, but also about creating jobs, empowering creative talent, and building an Indonesian digital art ecosystem capable of growing together,” she said in Jakarta on Thursday, July 16, 2026, as quoted on the ministry's official website.

Irene noted that immersive platforms can help expand the use of local intellectual property (IP) through digital innovation. One idea under discussion is transforming traditional Indonesian games into interactive digital experiences under the Independence Day theme “A Sovereign, Just, and Prosperous Indonesia.”

“Indonesia has a very rich tradition, games, and culture. The challenge is how we can package them with a digital touch to create a unique and inspiring experience that captures the attention of both the Indonesian public and the global community,” she said.

The meeting also addressed challenges in the immersive experience sector, including the need for technology investment, stronger business models, and IP development to enable local creators to compete globally.

Imagispace co‑founder and Art & Creative Director Mervi welcomed the ministry’s support.

“Through our collaboration with the ministry, we aim to deliver digital art experiences that are not only entertaining but also highlight Indonesia’s cultural identity and open up more opportunities for local creators,” she said, adding that the partnership could lead to further activations during Independence Day celebrations. ***
