RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – The Financial Services Authority (OJK) is strengthening its digital startup acceleration programs to foster trusted, sustainable, and globally competitive innovations in the financial sector. This strategic move aims to accelerate the development of the national digital economy while attracting global investors to Indonesia’s technology ecosystem.
In 2026, the OJK Innovation Center is launching two new programs to help technology startups develop their ideas from start to finish. The first program focuses on artificial intelligence (AI) and fraud safety, while the second supports Web3 technology and creative project funding.
This initiative was reinforced through an FGD themed “Accelerating the Next Generation of Innovators” in Jakarta on Thursday, July 23, 2026. The forum brought together startup participants, regulators, investors, academics, and industry experts to refine sustainable business strategies.
Furthermore, the government’s active involvement aims to provide regulatory certainty for businesses and potential foreign investors. Executive Director of Supervision for Technology Innovation in the Financial Sector, Digital Financial Assets, and Crypto Assets at the OJK Adi Budiarso emphasized the importance of cross-sector collaboration to build a robust digital ecosystem.
“The OJK wants Indonesia to become a center of excellence for digital finance and the digital economy. To achieve this, we must build strong collaboration among regulators, the industry, the government, academics, investors, and innovators within a single ecosystem capable of creating value for the national economy,” Adi stated.
He added that the cornerstone of the digital economy lies not only in advanced technology, but also in public trust. He said, “In the digital economy, trust is the ultimate currency. Therefore, innovation must not only be technologically superior, but also capable of building public trust.”
Support for this digital transformation aligns with the strengthening of data infrastructure. Director General of the Digital Ecosystem at the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs Edwin Hidayat Abdullah emphasized the importance of adopting new tech.
“If we want to move forward, we have no choice but to transform and adapt to new technologies. Going forward, the economy will be increasingly driven by data exchange, making digital technology a crucial foundation for Indonesia’s competitiveness,” Edwin said.
