RRI.CO.ID, Bogor - The Ministry of Trade launched Indonesia’s first export of yogurt products to Vietnam in Bogor Regency, West Java, on Wednesday, May 6, 2026.
Two containers of the dairy product recorded a shipment value of USD 65,000, equivalent to IDR 1.13 billion, contributing to foreign exchange earnings in the food industry.
Director General of National Export Development at the Ministry of Trade, Fajarini Puntodewi, said the successful entry into the Vietnamese market reflects the growing competitiveness of Indonesian yogurt in Asia. “The first export shipment by PT Cisarua Mountain Dairy Tbk proves that Indonesian products can meet market preferences,” she stated.
Exports of processed dairy products have shown a strong upward trend. The sector’s export value reached USD 71.68 million last year. Significant growth continued in early 2026, with shipments rising 63.43 percent to USD 14.81 million in the first two months.
Specifically for yogurt, international transactions totaled USD 1.45 million in early 2025, marking a 50.30 percent increase compared to the same period the previous year.
“We invite all parties to collaborate to strengthen Indonesia’s position in the global market,” Puntodewi said, adding that the launch demonstrates that value-added dairy products are increasingly well-received internationally.
PT Cisarua Mountain Dairy’s Manufacturing Director, Pamungkas Bayu Triprasetyo, said the expansion into Vietnam is aimed at driving national export growth. He emphasized that Indonesia’s food and beverage industry will continue to strengthen its global contribution.
Pamungkas expressed optimism about international demand. “Consumer acceptance and market growth mean that demand for Indonesian yogurt products will continue to rise,” he said.
The company, known for its Cimory brand, produces 656 tons of yogurt daily. Its products have previously entered markets in Malaysia, Hong Kong, and Palestine. (Gusti Panji/Lasti Martina)
