RRI.CO.ID, Bologna — Indonesian cosmetic and beauty products captured the global market’s attention at Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna 2026, held from March 26–29, 2026, at the BolognaFiere Exhibition Centre in Bologna, Italy. Through its participation in the event, the Indonesian Government sought to strengthen Indonesia’s image as a competitive and innovative producer in the global beauty industry.
At the prestigious event, Indonesia recorded potential transactions worth USD 2.02 million, or approximately Rp34.58 billion. Hair care and eyelash products were the most sought-after commodities. Most prospective business partners came from Hungary, Poland, Türkiye, Spain, and Sweden.
Deputy Chief of Mission of the Indonesian Embassy in Rome, Tika Wihanasari, affirmed the importance of economic diplomacy synergy in supporting the promotion of national products. “The Indonesian Embassy in Rome continues to encourage collaboration between Indonesian business actors and international partners through various strategic platforms. One of them is through Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna 2026 to enhance Indonesia’s export competitiveness and sustainability,” Tika said, as quoted from an official statement on Wednesday, April 22, 2026.
Meanwhile, responding to the post-exhibition transaction potential, Indonesian Trade Attaché in Rome, Hesty Syntia, stated that the achievement demonstrates the global beauty industry’s enthusiasm for Indonesian products. “This achievement is concrete proof of the world’s trust in the innovation and readiness of Indonesian cosmetic and beauty products to meet strict international standards,” Hesty said.
Hesty explained that the positive response from visitors reflected the ability of Indonesian cosmetic and beauty products to meet the highly selective standards of the European market through the use of environmentally friendly natural raw materials. “The use of this natural wealth has become a key strategy in increasing global competitiveness and strengthening Indonesia’s position as a major player in the international cosmetics industry,” she said.
Moreover, Hesty added that Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna 2026 has opened opportunities for Indonesian cosmetic products to penetrate the European market. She expressed hope that the participation of local companies this time would encourage more businesses, including micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the beauty sector, to take part in next year’s exhibition.
“We hope the participation of local companies can serve as a catalyst for domestic business actors, including cosmetic MSMEs, to become more confident in exploring opportunities and competing in the European market,” Hesty said.
Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna 2026 marked the 57th edition of the international trade exhibition for the cosmetics and beauty industry. This year’s exhibition featured more than 3,000 companies from 65 countries, representing over 10,000 international brands.
