RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesian Ministry of Trade’s MSME BISA (Dare to Innovate, Ready to Adapt) Export Program recorded transactions worth USD 23.60 million in the first quarter of 2026, reflecting growing opportunities for Indonesian micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to access international markets through mentoring and export promotion initiatives.

According to ministry data, the figure includes potential transactions through memorandums of understanding (MoUs) amounting to USD 19.64 million and purchase orders (POs) worth USD 3.96 million.

From January to March 2026, the Directorate General of National Export Development organized 170 business-matching activities, involving 396 MSMEs and 528 participants.

International buyers sought products from sectors including processed seafood and fisheries, home décor and furniture, health and personal care, spices, food and beverages, agriculture and plantations, fashion, cosmetics, cocoa, paper, coconut, herbal products, and plasticware.

“MSMEs are one of the government’s main focuses in developing national exports. Therefore, the Ministry of Trade is strengthening mentoring programs so more businesses can compete in the global market,” said Director General of National Export Development, Fajarini Puntodewi, in Jakarta on Wednesday, as quoted by Antara.

The MSME BISA Export Program helps local businesses break into international markets by providing training, market information, and business matching services. It has facilitated transactions worth hundreds of millions of US dollars with destination countries such as Japan, the Netherlands, and Germany.

Puntodewi noted that the Export Coaching Program (ECP) and related training workshops help business actors understand export procedures, requirements, marketing strategies, and document preparation.

The ministry also provides market studies, product trends, export opportunities, and regulatory information to support MSMEs in developing export strategies.

To expand market access, the ministry facilitates business exploration between Indonesian enterprises and international buyers, both online and offline, supported by Indonesian trade representatives abroad.

MSMEs are also encouraged to participate in international exhibitions such as Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI), trade missions, and promotional activities in potential markets.

On the digital front, the ministry is developing the InaExport platform to connect exporters with international buyers and provide information on export opportunities.

Puntodewi hopes that these integrated programs will encourage more MSMEs to become exporters that meet international standards, expand their markets, and increase their contribution to national exports. ***
