Indonesian Coffee Franchise Expands to Taiwan

RRI.CO.ID, Taipe - Indonesian coffee franchise, Kenangan Coffee, expanded to Taiwan with their first store in Taipei. Head of Indonesian Trade and Economy Office in Taipei, Arif Sulistyo, said this is a proof of the quality and value of Indonesian coffee.
As quoted by Trade Ministry's press release on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, Arif also said the franchise expansion will have significant impact to Indonesian exports to Taiwan. "Indonesian Trade and Economy Office in Taipei keeps supporting the expansion of Kenangan Coffee and others Indonesian coffee businesses so more people in Taiwan can enjoy our coffee," he said during Kenanga Coffee's store opening ceremony.
Arif further explained that the Indonesian Trade and Economy Office in Taipei has collaborated with Kenangan Coffee Taiwan and various others stakeholders in Taiwan. This support provided promotion accross media and influencers in Taiwan, as well as monitoring consumers' review on the products.
Meanwhile, Co-Founder of Kenangan Coffee Taiwan Peter Wu said he saw a great opportunity for the franchise in Taiwan, after its rapid development and ability to compete against global coffee franchise in indonesia.
"Founded in 2017, Kenangan Coffee new has more than 1,000 stores in Indonesia and more than 1,300 globally including in Malaysia, Singapore, and Australia," Peter Wu conveyed. He also said that Taiwan is Kenangan Coffee's seventh international market with the the company's global market capitalization rising above USD 1.2 billion.
Kenangan Coffee Taiwan is located at the second floor of Shin Kong Mitsukoshi department store in Taipei. Since its soft launch on 28 March 2026, the daily visitors of the were around 250 people on working days and 350 people on the weekend.
The Kenangan Coffee in Taiwan offers various choices of coffee, tea, and desserts. While showcasing Indonesian coffee, some menus have been adjusted to the taste of Taiwanese market.
Data of the Indonesian Ministry of Trade saw a USD 1.45 billion total trade value of Indonesia and Taiwan in January-February 2026. While in 2025, Indonesia's export to Taiwan was iron and steel, mineral fuel, copper, machine and appliances, as well as papers.
