RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Ministry of Creative Economy has prepared a financing ceiling of up to IDR 10 trillion for creative economy players through the Intellectual Property (IP)-based People’s Business Credit (KUR) scheme.

Creative Economy Minister Teuku Riefky Harsya said the government is promoting the use of intellectual property as collateral. “Currently, it is still in a transitional period, so IP is being used as supporting collateral while building trust with financial institutions,” he said in Jakarta on Sunday, March 8, 2026, as quoted by Antara.

Through the IP-based KUR scheme, creative entrepreneurs can access financing ranging from IDR 100 million to IDR 500 million. The funding will be distributed in collaboration with the National Creative Economy Movement (GEKRAFS), the government’s strategic partner in promoting the creative industry.

Minister Riefky made the announcement at the closing of the GEKRAFS National Working Meeting (Rakernas) in Jakarta. He explained that cooperation between the ministry and GEKRAFS has continued to grow since the signing of a memorandum of understanding in July 2025.

Joint initiatives have included “Oktoberkreasi” (Creative October), held ahead of National Creative Economy Day, and facilitating meetings between Indonesian creative economy actors and Japan’s creative community in Osaka.

He added that a Presidential Regulation covering the Master Plan for the Creative Economy from 2026 to 2045 has been completed and will be approved soon. He encouraged GEKRAFS to help disseminate the policy to creative economy actors across the country.

Teuku Riefky emphasized GEKRAFS’s role as a strategic partner in strengthening the creative economy as a new driver of national growth. “Over the past seven years, GEKRAFS has grown into a national movement with more than 38,000 members across 38 provinces and hundreds of regencies and cities,” he said.

GEKRAFS Chairman Kawendra Lukistian highlighted his organization’s commitment to empowering creative economy actors through eight main programs known as Asta Karya. “If President Prabowo has Asta Cita, we also present Asta Karya, eight programs to empower creative economy activists. We are grateful to the Ministry of Creative Economy for inaugurating Intellectual Property Appraisers, so that creators’ works can now serve as collateral for obtaining adequate access to capital,” Kawendra said.

The 2026 GEKRAFS National Working Meeting, themed “Astakarya: Accelerating Work, Transforming the Indonesian Economy,” was held on March 6–7, 2026.

The forum, attended by GEKRAFS executives from several regions, discussed strategic issues including intellectual property protection, access to finance, digital transformation, strengthening creative hubs, and expanding market access for Indonesian creative products.

At the conclusion of the meeting, GEKRAFS submitted a recommendation report to the Ministry of Creative Economy as input for improving regulations to foster the sector. The ministry also received the Best Strategic Collaboration Award from GEKRAFS in recognition of its synergy in strengthening the national creative economy ecosystem. ***
