RRI.CO.ID, Maros - The Indonesian Ministry of Trade is strengthening the Warehouse Receipt System (SRG) as a strategic instrument to support commodity exports to global markets. In the future, SRG will be integrated with the Export-Ready Village (Desa BISA Ekspor/DBE) program, which business actors, including farmers, can utilize.
Trade Minister Budi Santoso said the ministry is working to expand access to international markets through cooperation with local administrations, financing institutions, SRG warehouse managers, and exporters.
“Access to markets for commodities stored in SRG warehouses is also being expanded through pitching and business-matching activities, facilitated by the Indonesian Trade Attaché and the Indonesia Trade Promotion Center (ITPC) in 33 countries,” Minister Budi said during the launch of the export of 75 tons of seaweed to China from a warehouse facility in Maros, South Sulawesi, on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, as quotedon the ministry’s official website.
Minister Budi explained that the DBE program is designed to strengthen the village export ecosystem through six strategies: strengthening export human resources, product development, increasing productivity and technology, logistics, financing, and promotion and market access.
Through this program, commodities such as seaweed can be stored in SRG warehouses and marketed when global prices are more favorable for farmers and fishermen.
Head of the Commodity Futures Trading Regulatory Agency (Bappebti), Tirta Karma Senjaya, said SRG has a strategic role in supporting leading commodity exports in various regions of Indonesia.
“In addition, SRG warehouse managers have the opportunity to improve their competence and communication, so that they can expand their export market access for the products they manage,” Tirta said.
The ministry exported 75 tons of Eucheuma cottonii seaweed, valued at USD 100,215 (around IDR 1.7 billion), to China. The export release was conducted from the SRG warehouse of PT Asia Sejahtera Mina (AsiaMina) in Maros, South Sulawesi, on Wednesday, March 4.
AsiaMina’s SRG warehouse is one of seven warehouses managed by PT Wahana Pronatural Tbk (PT WAPO), which regularly exports seaweed to China and Spain.
Bappebti noted that Indonesia’s seaweed exports in 2025 reached USD 317.55 million, with the main destinations being China, the United States, Spain, Japan, and the Netherlands. ***
