RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesian Trade Minister Budi Santoso reported on the success of the UMKM BISA Ekspor program in encouraging many local businesses to become new, highly resilient exporters. The value of transactions recorded from the program reached USD 134.87 million.
“The Ministry provides MSMEs direct access to global markets through business matching. Throughout 2025, 1,217 MSMEs have been facilitated with a total transaction value of USD 134.87 million,” said Minister Budi in Jakarta on Friday, February 6, 2026.
The food and beverage sector dominated business matching activities, accounting for 29.99 percent. Plantation products and furniture also contributed significantly to foreign trade performance.
The government also paid special attention to people with disabilities and women entrepreneurs through thematic sessions to help their superior products penetrate the international market. “This effort is a commitment to ensure that all MSME players have equal opportunities to access the global market,” said Minister Budi.
The owner of CV Berkah Pangan Nusantara, Ryza Sulistyanawati, expressed her high appreciation for the implementation of the export program. Ryza considered the event a comprehensive introduction to market opportunities abroad.
Face-to-face meetings with potential foreign customers are an effective means for small regional entrepreneurs. Understanding the target market's characteristics is highly beneficial for MSMEs in adjusting product quality.
Fifi, a producer at Billiton Spice, said the forum was highly beneficial for regional business growth. “Our flagship product, Billiton Spice Muntok White Pepper, has the opportunity to seek export opportunities to a broader market,” she said.
The Ministry’s Director General of National Export Development, Fajarini Puntodewi, emphasized that the program would be strengthened through collaboration with foreign representatives. Puntodewi will actively engage with Indonesian Embassies to expand its network of potential international buyers.
Continuous, intensive assistance is key to maintaining product quality in SME exports. “We will follow up on various constructive inputs to ensure that this program runs more effectively and has a real impact on increasing national exports,” said Puntodewi.
The government has prepared a list of 178 international exhibitions as promotional references for SME mentors. The list is expected to expand this year to promote local products on the world stage. (Gusti Panji/Lasti Martina)
