RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesian Creative Economy Ministry has thrown its support behind Nuanu Creative City in Tabanan, Bali, describing the 44-hectare complex as a model for the country’s future creative ecosystem. The site, which blends art, nature, technology, and culture, is being positioned as a space where sustainability and innovation can grow together.

Deputy Minister of Creative Economy, Irene Umar, said Nuanu should be seen as more than a physical development, calling it a real manifestation of the future of Indonesia’s creative economy in a written statement received in Jakarta on Sunday, May 10, 2026. “We are here to provide our full support for the development of an area that combines immersive experiences with a commitment to sustainable living.”

Nuanu was built on the Tri Hita Karana philosophy, which emphasizes harmony among people, God, and nature, and the project reportedly dedicates only 30 percent of its land to construction while keeping the remaining 70 percent as green space. The complex also applies a zero-emission approach through the use of electric vehicles.

As reported by Antara, Irene said the site shows how digital technology and environmental preservation can advance together, while still reflecting local identity. "I'm proud to see the work of our nation's children competing on a global scale without abandoning their local identity. From the use of multimedia to the conservation efforts at Magic Garden, everything is designed to improve the well-being of the community while protecting the earth," she said.

During the visit, she observed installations such as Earth Sentinels, AI-based multimedia at Aurora Media Park, and flora-fauna conservation efforts at Magic Garden.

She also met artisans at Art Village, a space designed to teach traditional crafts to local residents, and noted the role of Nuanu Kids Academy in providing free arts education for children in the surrounding area.

The Ministry of Creative Economy said it remains committed to supporting innovative, environmentally responsible creative zones across Indonesia. It said initiatives like Nuanu could help drive more inclusive growth in creative sub-sectors while strengthening Indonesia’s position in the global sustainable creative industry. ***
