RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Jakarta Provincial Administration has been awarded the APEX Green City Champion Award by the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, recognizing the capital's commitment to advancing low-carbon policies and green investments.

The award was presented directly to Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung by Elena Bourganskaia, Vice President of Strategy and Operation Support at IFC World Bank Group, at Jakarta City Hall on Tuesday, August 4, 2026. The international honor reflects Jakarta's ongoing efforts to mobilize private sector investment and implement climate finance mechanisms for sustainable urban development.

City officials noted that the partnership with IFC will support climate-resilient infrastructure projects, boost green financing options, and help transform Jakarta into an environmentally sustainable global hub that directly benefits public well-being.

City leaders emphasized that receiving international climate recognition reinforces Jakarta's dedication to sustainable urban infrastructure and climate resilience. Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung noted that the award serves as a key driver for the city's future green transformation.

"This award is both an honor and a motivation for Jakarta to continue accelerating its transformation into a green, resilient, inclusive, and sustainable global city," he said at Jakarta City Hall on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, as quoted by Antara.

"This recognition strengthens our strategic partnership with the IFC and the World Bank Group in developing green financing, sustainable infrastructure, private investment, and solutions to address climate change challenges," Pramono added.

He further highlighted the importance of translating international partnerships into tangible public benefits. "With support from international institutions, our development agenda will not only build infrastructure but also improve environmental quality and public welfare, as Governor, I hope this partnership continues to grow through the implementation of strategic projects that deliver real, lasting impacts for the people," Governor Pramono added. ***
