RRI.CO.ID, Denpasar - The Denpasar Immigration Office has detained three foreign nationals (WNA) suspected of involvement in an online prostitution ring. The arrests followed a cyber monitoring operation targeting specific websites.

"We do not tolerate the misuse of stay permits, including violations of Indonesian law and norms," Head of Denpasar Immigration, R. Haryo Sakti, confirmed the operation on Monday, May 4, 2026, as quoted by Antara.

The three women, aged between 21 and 27, were apprehended in separate locations across Bali following a targeted immigration operation. One suspect, EJN from Nigeria, was arrested at a villa in Mengwi, Badung, having entered Indonesia via Soekarno-Hatta International Airport on March 21, 2026.

At that same villa, authorities also apprehended ED from Russia, who had arrived in the country through I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport on March 10, 2026.

AR, also from Russia, was detained at a hotel in the Renon area of Denpasar on April 22, 2026, where immigration officers found her in a hotel room with a male companion after verifying her identity through the immigration database.

All three suspects were found to be holding visitor stay permits . Authorities emphasized that while Indonesia offers streamlined immigration services to encourage tourism, visitors are strictly required to adhere to local laws.

Haryo reiterated that foreign nationals are expected to contribute positively to their travel destinations rather than engaging in illegal activities. The three individuals are currently being held at the Denpasar Immigration Office for further intensive questioning. ***
