RRI.CO.ID, Nusantara – Development of the legislative and judicial complex in Indonesia’s future capital progresses steadily toward its 2027–2028 completion target. The project highlights Indonesia’s commitment to modern and integrated governance infrastructure.
The legislative area will include major buildings such as the plenary hall and chambers for national representative bodies. The plenary building is designed to accommodate more than 1,500 participants as the center of parliamentary activities.
Supporting infrastructure, including a 3.7-kilometer internal road network, is under preparation to ensure efficient connectivity. Land clearing and early-stage works have already been carried out to accelerate progress.
The judicial complex is divided into two major construction phases to streamline development. The first phase focuses on the supreme court facilities and a public justice plaza.
The second phase includes the constitutional court, judicial offices, and a mosque within the same integrated area. An 8-kilometer road network will support accessibility across the judicial zone.
Head of the Nusantara Capital Authority Basuki Hadimuljono emphasized that the project won't be impacted by budget efficiency measures.
“The development of the judicial and legislative complex is not subject to budget efficiency. Construction will continue, so there is no need for concern,” he stated on Saturday, 11 April 2026.
In parallel, sustainable infrastructure systems are being developed to support the new capital. Water management facilities and integrated pipelines connected through a multi-utility tunnel are designed to ensure long-term resilience.
Indonesia continues to position Nusantara as a forward-looking capital that promotes sustainability, inclusivity, and strong governance. The project invites global engagement as part of Indonesia’s broader vision for future urban development.
