RRI.CO.ID, Yogyakarta - The intersection of artistic soul and cutting-edge machinery took center stage as Yogyakarta Mayor Hasto Wardoyo officially inaugurated the Jogja Printing Expo (JPE) 2026, held at the Jogja Expo Center (JEC) on Wednesday, April 8, 2026.
The exhibition is being hailed as a pivotal moment for the city’s renowned creative community to embrace the future of artificial intelligence and digital precision. Mayor Hasto highlighted that Yogyakarta’s identity as a hub for artists, cultural practitioners, and art curators makes it the ideal laboratory for high-tech printing solutions.
"Yogyakarta as a creative city, with many artists, cultural figures, and extraordinary art curators, requires the support of the latest artificial technology for that creativity," he noted during the opening ceremony, as quoted by Antara.
The expo aims to bridge the gap between conceptual design and physical production. By bringing the latest printing hardware to a city fueled by imagination, Mayor Hasto expects a unique synergy.
"I hope the combination of these two things will produce works beyond expectations, ultimately resulting in outcomes that surpass those of other cities," he said.
Organized by Krista Exhibitions, the event runs from April 8 to 11 and serves as a comprehensive showcase of modern graphics technology. The floor features a wide array of machinery, including indoor and outdoor digital printers, UV and sublimation technology, and evolving packaging solutions.
This year, JPE is uniquely integrated with three other major trade shows: the Jogja Food & Beverage Expo, Jogja Pack & Process Expo, and Jogja All Tea Expo 2026.
Daud D. Salim, owner of Krista Exhibitions, explained that the event functions as a vital platform for industry players to explore printing applications across diverse materials. "This exhibition displays printing technology for various media, ranging from paper, textiles, and leather to metal and wood," he said.
The exhibition features 35 companies, including 15 MSMEs (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) specifically focused on the printing sector.
The local business community has welcomed the influx of new technology. Puji, a 39-year-old exhibitor, noted that the event serves as a catalyst for growth for both established firms and startups.
"The event is great for triggering the development of the printing industry. The hope for the future is that it can become even more crowded," Puji remarked.
Beyond the machinery, Mayor Hasto emphasized the economic potential of these collaborations. He urged MSMEs to use the expo to expand their networks and increase competitiveness.
"In the future, we hope that the collaboration between business actors, investors, and MSMEs can continue to be strengthened, thus providing a real contribution to the regional economy," he concluded. ***
