Nusantara’s Sepaku Fresh Market Opens, Boosting Local Economy

RRI.CO.ID, Nusantara - Sepaku Fresh Market has begun operations, signaling a revival of economic activity in the Nusantara area. Traders are setting up their stalls in the newly allocated kiosks they recently occupied.

Regarding details about the development, Spokesperson of the Nusantara Capital Authority and Special Staff for Public Communication, Troy Pantouw, explained that the market spans 5,880-square-meter site with two main buildings.

“This market reflects a commitment to providing proper, modern, and sustainable infrastructure for traders and the community,” he said on Thursday, 2 April 2026 .

He further emphasized the purpose of the project as part of area improvement efforts.

“The development and arrangement of Sepaku Fresh Market aim to beautify the area, create a healthier environment, and create a more orderly and comfortable environment for economic and social activities,” he said.

The market officially began operating after the handover process on 15 March 2026. As of now, 135 traders have registered and started occupying available spaces, with occupancy proceeding in phases.

Outlining the available facilities, the market includes dry and wet kiosks, stalls, and a food court area. It also provides parking spaces, sanitation facilities, a prayer room, cleaning services, and 24-hour security with CCTV.

Emphasizing fairness in vendor allocation, Acting Director of Building, Area, and Urban Management of the Nusantara Capital Authority, Cakra Nagara, highlighted the process.

“We ensure that the distribution of kiosks and stalls is conducted fairly through a lottery system witnessed by various parties, including local government,” he stated.

He also encouraged traders to immediately occupy their assigned spaces. He added, “We hope traders will promptly move in, as we anticipate a high number of visitors coming to the Nusantara area.”

Highlighting operational access for the public, Staff of the Social Services Directorate of the Nusantara Capital Authority, Steven, explained the service schedule. “This market is open every day, so people’s needs can be met at any time,” he said.

Traders have expressed positive impressions of the new facilities and environment. Local trader Ilmi Nafia said, “The cleanliness here is very good. It is much more organized and modern than before.”

Other traders also shared their expectations as the market begins to grow. Mobile phone service provider Arif said, “The sanitation standard is good, it is maintained daily. There are no issues, and we hope more visitors will come.”

Sepaku Fresh Market is expected to serve as both an economic and social space in Nusantara. It is envisioned not only as a place for transactions but also as a meeting point for residents and visitors.
