RRI.CO.ID, Nusantara - The first Eid al-Fitr prayer of 1447 Hijri at Masjid Negara IKN signals a new era in building the social and spiritual life of Indonesia’s new capital. This moment reflects Indonesia’s commitment to developing a city that is not only modern in infrastructure but also rich in religious and communal values.
The Eid prayer, held on Saturday, 21 March 2026, was attended by the Head of the IKN Authority, Basuki Hadimuljono. His presence shows that the development of Nusantara aims to balance physical progress with strong community values.
The prayer was led by Imam Ustadz Dr. Ahmad Muzakir, a lecturer from Universitas PTIQ Jakarta. The sermon was delivered by Dean of the Faculty of Ushuluddin, Adab, and Dakwah at UIN Sultan Aji Muhammad Idris Samarinda, Abzar Duraesa, who highlighted the significance of Eid al-Fitr.
“We celebrate victory, not a victory over others, but a victory over ourselves. Spiritually, and in the Indonesian spirit, the development of the Nusantara Capital also aims to realize equitable social justice for all Indonesians,” Abzar Duraesa said.
This message demonstrates that Eid is not only a religious celebration, but also a moment for self-reflection. Values such as self-control and social justice are important in building a peaceful and inclusive society.
Thousands of worshippers attended the prayer, showing strong enthusiasm for celebrating Eid in the new capital. This also marks the beginning of a nascent yet united community in Nusantara.

During the month of Ramadan, the mosque hosted many religious activities, including daily prayers and social programs. These activities show that the development of IKN also focuses on spiritual and cultural life.
Deputy for Social, Cultural, and Community Empowerment at the IKN Authority, Alimuddin, invited people to strengthen their relationship with God and with each other. This reflects a community-centered approach that supports Indonesia’s second track diplomacy efforts.
Through this first Eid prayer, Indonesia projects to the world that the development of its new capital promotes inclusiveness and harmony. This approach strengthens Indonesia’s image as a country that combines modern progress with strong spiritual values.
