RRI.CO.ID, Nusantara - Visitors arriving in Nusantara are now welcomed by trained tour guides who help them explore Indonesia’s future capital. The initiative is part of a collaboration between the Nusantara Capital Authority and Bank Indonesia, designed to enhance visitor experiences in the city’s development area.

As guests board the electric buses serving the capital, friendly guides welcome them and provide engaging explanations along the route. They go beyond simply pointing out landmarks, sharing the meaning and vision behind key buildings in the Kawasan Inti Pusat Pemerintahan (KIPP) Nusantara (the government’s central district).

The guides accompany visitors eager to learn more about the development of Indonesia’s new capital. With growing public interest, their presence has become an integral part of the visitor experience in Nusantara.

“I came here just for a weekend trip to see the new capital. But it was fascinating to have a tour guide on the bus explaining the names of the places and the stories behind each building,” said Rafi, a visitor on Saturday, 14 March 2026.

Currently, 25 Nusantara tour guides are on duty, many coming from local tourism awareness groups and community volunteers supported by the Cultural, Tourism, and Creative Economy programs of the Nusantara Capital Authority. Before taking on their roles, the guides completed a year-long training and internship program designed to prepare them for guiding visitors. Of these, 20 have received official certification from the Badan Nasional Sertifikasi Profesi (Indonesia’s National Professional Certification Agency).

For the guides, the opportunity is both meaningful and rewarding, allowing them to play a direct role in introducing Nusantara to the public. They also act as ambassadors, sharing the story of Indonesia’s new capital with visitors from across the country.

“Being a Nusantara tour guide in the new capital is an experience I am incredibly proud of. I meet visitors from many regions and help them understand the development of Nusantara. I hope all guides stay motivated, continue learning, and provide the best experience for every visitor,” said Risa Astuti, one of the guides.

She also expressed gratitude to the Nusantara Capital Authority and the joint working secretariat of KOPERBI IKN for giving local communities the chance to participate in visitor services.

“We hope the Nusantara tour guide program continues to grow as the new capital develops. May Nusantara’s construction progress smoothly, benefit the people, and become a source of pride for Indonesia,” she said.

With more visitors coming to Nusantara, the tour guides help them understand the city’s districts and facilities while also showcasing the ongoing development of Indonesia’s new capital to a wider audience.
