  • Jakarta Fair Kemayoran (JFK) 2026 aims to attract more than 6 million visitors and generate IDR 8 trillion in transactions.

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Organizers of the Jakarta Fair Kemayoran (JFK) 2026 are targeting more than 6 million visitors and total transactions of IDR 8 trillion (USD 443.6 million). The target is higher than the outcome of Jakarta Fair 2025, which drew about 5.9 million visitors and recorded transactions of IDR 7.3 trillion (USD 404.05 million).

“We expect visitor numbers this year to exceed 6 million and transactions to approach IDR 8 trillion, that is our target,” said the Marketing Director of PT Jakarta International Expo (JIExpo), Ralph Scheunemann, at a press conference at JIExpo Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, Thursday, 4 June 2026.

Ralph acknowledged that meeting the target faces challenges amid volatile global economic and geopolitical conditions. He noted that several international exhibitions in various countries have been canceled because of rising global uncertainty.

He cited numerous events in the Middle East that have been postponed or called off in recent months due to escalating geopolitical tensions. Nevertheless, JIExpo assesses that the impact on the Indonesian market, particularly Jakarta, remains relatively contained.

“We hope the effect in Indonesia, and Jakarta specifically, will not be as severe as elsewhere,” said Ralph.

That optimism is supported by strong business participation in this year’s Jakarta Fair. A total of 2,800 participants with 1,800 exhibition booths have confirmed their involvement. The mix comprises 55 percent private companies and 45 percent micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

“Various industry sectors will enliven the fair, from automotive, electronics, and gadgets to furniture, household goods, fashion, culinary, cosmetics, creative industries, and financial services. The presence of thousands of participants is expected to be the main driver of transactions during the event,” he said.

Jakarta Fair 2026 also carries symbolic significance as part of the 499th-anniversary celebrations of Jakarta Province and as a lead-up to the city’s 500th anniversary in 2027. Ralph said this year’s staging is part of the Road to 500 Years Jakarta program to be held together with the Jakarta Provincial Adminstration.

“We have one year left before the 500th anniversary of the birth of Indonesia’s capital, Jakarta. This year’s Jakarta Fair is one element of the road to 500 years,” he said.

On visitor services, JIExpo General Manager Operations, Oki Setiawan, said supporting facilities have been upgraded, including public transportation access to the exhibition site. One focal improvement is additional TransJakarta services directly connected to the Jakarta Fair area.

“This year, during the Jakarta Fair, there will be additional TransJakarta routes to the fair from several locations that connect directly to the Jakarta Fair,” said Oki.

TransJakarta will operate several routes to JIExpo Kemayoran, which are PRJ 1 Kampung Melayu–JIExpo, PRJ 2 Pulo Gadung–JIExpo, 2C Balai Kota–JIExpo, and 1W Blok M–Ancol. These routes are expected to ease visitor mobility and reduce private vehicle congestion around the exhibition area. (Annaila Azzahra/EN)
