RRI.CO.ID, Medan - The Class II TPI Belawan Immigration Office in North Sumatra has deported three South Korean nationals for violating Indonesian immigration laws. The individuals, identified by their initials SK, GC, and LNY, were found to be engaging in activities inconsistent with their legal stay permits.
The deportation took place on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, via Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Jakarta, following a thorough investigation by immigration officials.
According to Head of the Belawan Immigration Office, Eko Yudis Parlin Rajagukguk, the three South Korean citizens had been residing in Indonesia since 2024 under investor stay permits. However, a field investigation revealed that they were performing activities that did not align with the purpose of their visas.
This constitutes a violation of Article 122 of Law No. 6/2011 on Immigration, which mandates that foreign nationals must adhere strictly to the conditions of their granted permits.
"The deportation demonstrates our active role in maintaining the security and order of foreigners within Indonesian territory, particularly in our working area," said Eko on Thursday, March 5, 2026, as quoted by Antara.
In addition to being expelled from the country, the three individuals have been placed on the prevention and deterrence list (blacklist), effectively barring them from re-entering Indonesia for a specific period. This case marks the fifth deportation carried out by the Belawan office as part of its ongoing commitment to border sovereignty.
Dedi Sinurat, Head of Intelligence and Immigration Enforcement at the Belawan office, emphasized that enforcement is more than a clerical task. "Immigration law enforcement is not just an administrative matter, but also a part of community protection and maintaining national sovereignty," Dedi added. ***
