Nurisa Dian Keeps Indonesia's Compound Archery Campaign Alive

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia's challenge in the women's individual compound archery competition at the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games will continue through Nurisa Dian Ashrifah, who advanced to the quarterfinals and remains the country's sole representative in the event.

Competing at Okazaki Chuo Sogo Park Multipurpose Square in Okazaki, Aichi, Japan, on Monday, Sept. 28, 2026, Nurisa secured her place in the last eight with a 148-145 victory over Kazakhstan's Viktoriya Lyan in the round of 16, Antara reported.

Seeded eighth, Nurisa delivered a consistent performance throughout the elimination rounds. Before defeating Lyan, she opened her campaign with a 149-142 win over Singapore's Madeleine Xue Li Ong in the round of 32.

The result set up a quarterfinal meeting with top seed Chikitha Taniparthi of India on Thursday, Oct. 1, at 9 a.m. local time.

Taniparthi advanced to the quarterfinals after a closely contested match against Taiwan's Chen Yi-hsuan. Both archers scored 148 points before the Indian archer prevailed in a one-arrow shoot-off.

Meanwhile, Indonesia's other representative, Yurike Nina Bonita Pereira, was eliminated in the round of 16 after losing 145-148 to China's fifth-seeded Wunier. Yurike matched her opponent at 30-30 after the opening end but gradually fell behind, trailing 58-60, 88-90 and 116-120 before the match ended 145-148.

As a result, Nurisa remains Indonesia's only representative in the women's individual compound event as she continues her bid for a semifinal spot. ***
