Climber Putra Tri Ramadani Reaches Koper Semifinals Ahead of Asian Games 2026

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia's men’s lead climber Putra Tri Ramadani reached the semifinals of the men’s lead event at the World Climbing Series Koper 2026 in Slovenia on Friday, September 4, 2026, giving him valuable competition experience ahead of the Asian Games 2026 in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan.

The result matched the target set by the Indonesian Climbing Federation (FPTI), with Putra--or Srondeng as he is popularly called--expected to continue his run into the final and challenge for a podium finish.

"We (FPTI) are optimistic that Putra will deliver his best performance at the Koper series," National Climbing Team Manager Aries Susanti Rahayu said in Jakarta on Friday, September 4, as quoted by Antara.

She explained that Putra gave his best effort during the qualification round to collect the highest possible score. He secured seventh place with a score of 5.1.

Climbing lead coach Amri added that Srondeng had worked hard to bring pride to the nation and country.

According to World Climbing statistics, South Korean climber Dohyun Lee topped the qualification round with a score of 3.0. France’s Sam Avezou finished second with a score of 3.74.

Japan’s Neo Suzuki ranked third with a score of 3.74, followed by fellow Japanese climber Sorato Anraku with 4.9, Spain’s Alberto Ginez Lopez with 4.95, and Japan’s Satone Yoshida with 5.05.

Putra will compete in the semifinal on Friday night local time, while the final will be held on Saturday, September 5. The Koper series features only the men’s and women’s lead events.

Indonesia is also represented by women’s climber Alma Ariella Tsany, but she finished 33rd in the qualification round with a score of 28.93, ending her campaign at that stage.

In addition to improving the world rankings of both athletes, FPTI said their participation in the event serves as a trial and preparation for the Asian Games 2026 Aichi-Nagoya in Japan, which will take place from September 19 to October 4. ***
