RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Strengthening Indonesia's digital talent must start from school age thru collaboration between the government, the education sector, families, industry, and community organizations. That synergy becomes the foundation for shaping a generation that is not only adept at utilizing technology but also capable of engaging safely, productively, and responsibly in the digital space.

The Head of the Human Resource Development Agency (BPSDM) of hte Ministry of Communication and Digital, Boni Pudjianto, stated that the development of the digital generation is a shared responsibility among all stakeholders. According to him, Indonesian children need to be equipped with digital literacy from an early age to be ready to face the rapidly advancing technological developments.

"The presence of all participants is proof that building a digital generation in Indonesia is our shared responsibility. This mandate is also entrusted to the school principals and teachers throughout Indonesia," Boni said, quoted from the press release on Wednesday, June 22, 2026.

Boni emphasized that strengthening digital literacy must be done continuously. In line with the directives of the Minister of Communication and Digital, Meutya Hafid, protecting children in the digital space is not sufficient thru age access restrictions alone, but must also be accompanied by enhancing digital literacy, including the ability to recognize risks, protect personal data, use technology ethically, and maintain a balance between digital activities and social life.

According to him, the family plays an important role in shaping a child's character when using technology. Parental guidance is necessary so that children can use digital spaces positively while avoiding various existing risks.

"We believe that the digital ecosystem must be built together. Only thru collaboration between the government, industry, civil society, and the education sector can we advance education in Indonesia while also producing an excellent digital generation," he explained.

On that occasion, BPSDM Komdigi also reaffirmed its commitment to expanding the Digital Literacy Guide program by involving various partners, including the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection, the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education, as well as several technology companies such as Google, Meta, Canva, TikTok, and Blibli.

The event, attended by around 300 elementary and middle school students in Jakarta, included a talk show, training on the use of artificial intelligence (AI), digital literacy classes, a Digital Parenting workshop for teachers, and the reading of the Joint Declaration of Commitment to the Implementation of the TUNAS PP, witnessed by the Minister of Communication and Digital, Meutya Hafid. Thru this cross-sector collaboration, the government hopes to foster a generation of Indonesians who are intelligent, creative, critical, as well as safe and responsible in utilizing digital technology.
