RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesian government is refining the National Socio‑Economic Single Data (DTSEN) to improve the accuracy of targeting subsidy and social assistance programs.
Finance Minister Purbaya said the DTSEN will serve as the main reference for planning, implementing, and evaluating development programs.
He emphasized that improving the DTSEN is essential to ensure government programs are targeted, effective, efficient, and accountable. He noted that data quality is critical to ensuring subsidies and social assistance reach eligible recipients.
Minister Purbaya also agreed with the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) that the DTSEN provides a solution for determining subsidy and social assistance beneficiaries. The government will continue strengthening the quality and accuracy of the data.
“The government will strengthen fiscal synergy between the central government and regional administrations to support the national development agenda,” he said during the DPR RI Plenary Session in Jakarta on August 27, 2026.
Regional administrations are expected to help validate the data to ensure social protection policies reach communities in need.
The use of DTSEN is expected to reduce the risk of mis‑targeting in the distribution of government programs. With more accurate data, the state budget is expected to deliver greater benefits to the public.
The government is also directing the 2027 State Budget (APBN) to maintain economic stability and support national growth. Minister Purbaya said the state budget plays a strategic role amid persistent global uncertainty and elevated risks.
He explained that the APBN functions as a shock absorber to maintain national economic stability and safeguard public purchasing power.
In addition, the APBN stimulates the domestic economy and supports priority development agendas. Minister Purbaya said the 2027 state budget is designed to catalyze development and deliver tangible impacts on poverty reduction and public welfare. (Misni Parjiati)
