RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Vice Minister of Finance, Juda Agung, stated that Indonesia's fiscal condition remains stable until mid-2026. This was conveyed during a press conference regarding fiscal and monetary strengthening at the House of Representatives (DPR) in Jakarta on Monday, June 29, 2026.

According to him, several indicators point to solid fiscal performance, both in terms of state revenue, state spending, and the budget deficit. As of May 2026, the budget deficit was recorded at 0.7 percent and is expected to remain below the 3 percent limit until the end of the year.

He affirmed that this condition reflects prudent fiscal management amidst global economic dynamics. "The deficit as of May was 0.7 percent and is expected to remain below 3 percent by the end of the year, so it is still very manageable," he said.

Meanwhile, the government, along with members of the Financial Sector Stability Committee (KSSK), continues to strengthen banking liquidity to support credit distribution. Coordination between the Ministry of Finance and Bank Indonesia has decided to return and extend the placement of IDR 281 trillion in banking funds until the end of December 2026.

In addition to extending the placement of these funds, the government has also prepared a reserve fund of IDR 100 trillion if needed. This measure is taken to ensure adequate banking liquidity to support the financing needs of the real sector.

Juda explained that demand for credit from businesses and the public remains quite high. In May 2026, credit growth was recorded at 11.5 percent, and the government hopes the double-digit credit growth trend will continue in the coming months.

He hopes credit growth will increase. "According to information from banks, credit demand is still quite high, but liquidity needs to be maintained so banks can channel credit growth. It was estimated that in May, credit grew 11.5 percent," he said.
