RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs, thru the Deputy for Coordination of Communication and Information, conducted coordination and synchronization of the blankspot handling program to accelerate the equitable distribution of digital access in South Kalimantan Province, Wednesday, April 29, 2026.

Deputy for Coordination of Communication and Information at the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs, Rear Marshal TNI Eko Dono Indarto, whose speech was read by the Assistant Deputy for Coordination of Telecommunications and Informatics, First Marshal TNI Agus Pandu Purnama, stated that South Kalimantan has a very strategic position.

"The province of South Kalimantan has a very strategic position, not only as a center of regional economic growth but also as a connectivity hub that supports the integration of the Kalimantan region and plays an important role in supporting the development of the Nusantara Capital area," Pandu stated.

In addition, Pandu explained that there is still a digital access gap in this region. The challenging geographical conditions, ranging from swamp areas, river flows, hills, to island regions, along with the dispersed settlement patterns, cause the development of telecommunications infrastructure to face high costs and limitations in commercial investment feasibility.

"As a result, there are still blankspot areas, especially in remote and isolated regions, which directly impact the limited access of the community to digital public services, education, health, and technology-based economic opportunities," he said.

First Marshal TNI Pandu stated that the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs will continue to encourage and oversee this cross-sector coordination process so that every policy produced can run effectively, provide certainty, and have a direct impact on the community, especially in areas that still experience limited digital access.

"With the spirit of collaboration that we have built today, I am optimistic that the acceleration of addressing blank spots in South Kalimantan can be realized, as part of our great efforts in building inclusive and equitable national connectivity," Pandu asserted.

On the same occasion, the Governor of South Kalimantan Province, represented by the Assistant for General Administration, Dinansyah, expressed his utmost gratitude and appreciation to the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs for holding a coordination meeting to support equitable digital access throughout South Kalimantan.

"From this coordination meeting, I hope we can align our perceptions regarding the current situation and thoroughly resolve it together, as well as determine concrete steps that can be immediately implemented." Handling this blank spot is our shared responsibility," he stated.
