RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesian Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Moch. Irfan Yusuf, sent off 200 Hajj officers to Mecca on Thursday, April 23, 2026. The deployment took place at Pondok Gede Hajj Dormitory as part of the 2026 Hajj operation.

The deployment is part of Indonesia’s efforts to strengthen Hajj services in the Holy Land. Makkah serves as the central location for the peak of Hajj rituals.

During his remarks, the minister affirmed that the assignment carries significant responsibility. He said the role goes beyond administrative and technical duties in serving pilgrims.

The following is his statement delivered during the send-off ceremony in Jakarta. He highlighted the importance of responsibility and accountability in the mission.

“This task is not merely administrative and technical, but also a humanitarian duty as well as a state responsibility. Even the smallest mistake can be perceived as a state failure, while your success is the success of the nation,” he said.

Besides, he stressed that officers must prioritize a strong spirit of service while assisting Indonesian pilgrims. The assignment requires physical endurance and mental readiness, especially during peak rituals in Mecca.

He also underscored the importance of teamwork and coordination among officers in the field. Strong coordination is essential to ensure smooth and effective service delivery.

“The demanding tasks in Makkah require physical and mental stability. Maintain your work rhythm, work as a team, and build strong coordination,” he said.

The Indonesian government also urged officers to prioritize vulnerable groups, including elderly pilgrims, persons with disabilities, and women. These efforts aim to ensure safe, comfortable, and well-managed Hajj services for Indonesian pilgrims.
