RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – A total of 153 micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) are being prepared to enter the capital market. The Indonesian Ministry of MSMEs, in collaboration with the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), is encouraging MSMEs to strengthen their fundamentals before seeking funding through an Initial Public Offering (IPO).

The RISE TO IPO 2026 program reaches MSMEs in Surabaya, East Java; Makassar, South Sulawesi; and Bandung, West Java. The program, themed “Empowering Medium Enterprises to IPO,” is part of an effort to expand financing alternatives for MSMEs.

“Through RISE TO IPO, medium-sized business owners gain an understanding of funding opportunities through the capital market, the benefits of becoming listed, and the preparatory steps leading up to an IPO,” the ministry's Deputy for Medium-Sized Enterprises Bagus Rachman, said in a written statement in Jakarta on Thursday, September 18, 2026, as quoted on the ministry’s official website.

The mentoring covers legal, financial, and governance aspects. Bagus stated that fundamental readiness is a prerequisite for a company to enter the stock listing phase.

“RISE TO IPO is one of our efforts to broaden the perspective of medium-sized businesses that the capital market can be an alternative source of funding to support business expansion and development,” he said.

The program series began in Surabaya on June 18 with 50 companies, followed by Makassar on July 16 with 45 companies. Finally, it took place in Bandung on August 31, with 58 companies participating.

All participants are now entering the curation phase to determine which companies can join the RISE TO IPO Intensive Bootcamp, which assesses eligibility, business readiness, and MSMEs' potential to conduct an IPO.

Selected companies will receive intensive mentoring from capital market practitioners, covering improvements in legal compliance, finance, corporate governance, and business strategy.

Participants who meet the requirements will be directed to the IDX Incubator 2027. The government aims for this support to help MSMEs scale up their businesses and expand access to formal financing.

“The ministry is encouraging the transformation of medium-sized businesses so that they not only grow in terms of business scale but also become increasingly prepared to enter Indonesia’s formal financing ecosystem and capital markets,” Bagus concluded. ***
