RRI.CO.ID, Santiago - Indonesian processed fruit, vegetable, and tempeh snack products are expanding their presence in the Chilean market. Two Indonesian micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) secured orders worth USD 29,000, or around Rp510 million, from Cencosud Retail S.A., one of the buyers in the country.

The products were shipped from Indonesia in the second week of August 2026 and are expected to arrive in Chile in October for distribution through retail networks.

The two businesses that secured the export orders are CV Pangantama Makmur Abadi and CV Arva Indonesia. CV Pangantama Makmur Abadi exported mango, apple, jackfruit, broccoli, and mushroom chips. Meanwhile, CV Arva Indonesia exported tempeh chips in truffle, honey butter, and Himalayan salt basil flavors.

Director General of National Export Development at the Ministry of Trade, Fajarini Puntodewi, welcomed the achievement. She said that if the Indonesian products receive a positive response in the Chilean market, the two MSMEs could potentially secure additional transactions of up to USD 29,000.

“This transaction can serve as the beginning of a sustainable long-term partnership with local buyers. This is in line with the Ministry of Trade’s efforts to increase product exports to global markets. Several efforts include trade promotion, market exploration, exhibition facilitation, as well as assistance in business communication between Indonesian exporters and potential buyers abroad,” Puntodewi said, as quoted from an official statement on Monday, August 24, 2026.

According to the statement, the transaction did not happen overnight. The deal was a follow-up to the participation of Indonesian companies in the Espacio Food & Service 2025 food and beverage exhibition in Chile.

Business communication was subsequently continued with support from the Indonesia Trade Promotion Center (ITPC) Santiago and the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Santiago.

CV Pangantama Makmur Abadi owner and founder Irene Hartanto also expressed her appreciation for the support from various parties that helped make the initial transaction possible. She also encouraged Indonesian MSMEs to take advantage of export facilitation provided by the Ministry of Trade.

“Thank you to all parties who have helped make this initial transaction a success. Hopefully, going forward, we can remain consistent in carrying out these export activities,” Irene said.

In addition to overseeing the transaction, ITPC Santiago and the Indonesian Embassy in Santiago are also opening up new export opportunities through a business matching session between PT Mega Inovasi Organik and Agro Imagina on July 29, 2026. Deputy Head of ITPC Santiago Tesa Listva Kusumawardani said the prospective Chilean importer was interested in Indonesian spice products.

Further discussions will cover product types and specifications, quality standards, packaging, prices, supply capacity, and required supporting documents. “Based on the initial discussions, Agro Imagina’s potential purchase of spice products in 2026 is estimated at one 20-foot container, with a potential transaction value of USD 70,000,” Tesa added.

PT Mega Inovasi Organik is one of the Indonesian companies selected to represent the Indonesia Pavilion at Espacio Food & Service 2026, which will take place from September 29 to October 1, 2026. Ahead of the exhibition, the company introduced various Indonesian spice products to Agro Imagina as a prospective buyer. ITPC Santiago will also continue to facilitate business communication, covering the shipment process, fulfillment of import requirements, arrival of the products, as well as developments in distribution and sales in the Chilean market.
