RRI.CO.ID, Seoul - Indonesian art toy creators made a strong impression at URBAN BREAK & TOY CON SEOUL 2026, with potential transactions reaching USD 1 million, double last year’s figure of USD 500,000.

The exhibition, held at Coex in Seoul from July 30 to August 2, showcased Indonesia’s push to expand market access for art toys while boosting creative service exports to South Korea.

Director General of National Export Development at the Trade Ministry, Fajarini Puntodewi, said the surge reflects growing recognition of Indonesia’s creative products and services in global markets.

“This participation expands market access for art toys and drives service exports. The rising transaction potential shows our creative industry is increasingly competitive worldwide,” she noted on Sunday, August 9.

Indonesia’s pavilion, spanning 60 square meters, featured works from 21 curated creators, supported by the Trade Ministry, ITPC Busan, and Artistry Rights Kollektive. The showcase included designer toys and collectible toys, each with high aesthetic value and intellectual property protection.

Over 400 potential buyers engaged with Indonesian creators during the event, exploring both their works and creative services. Stevanus Lianto, founder of Artistry Rights Kollektive, praised government support, saying the exhibition offered valuable experience in meeting high expectations from international partners.

Indonesia’s participation also gained backing from the Indonesian Embassy in Seoul. Ambassador Cecep Herawan highlighted the creative industry’s role in strengthening bilateral ties and contributing to economic growth.

Husodo Kuncoro Yakti, head of ITPC Busan, stressed the need for sustained promotion to better understand Korean market preferences. He added that the event not only boosts service exports but also opens long-term collaboration opportunities for Indonesia’s creative industry.

URBAN BREAK & TOY CON SEOUL is South Korea’s largest urban art and art toy festival, blending pop culture, graffiti, and collectibles, and featuring more than 100 artists from 15 countries. (Diffa Sephiawardhani)
