MRT Jakarta Explores Glodok TOD Investment With Singapore Partners

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - PT MRT Jakarta (Region owned enterprise) is exploring investment opportunities for Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) projects in the Glodok and Kota areas with Singaporean investors to unlock creative financing, expand commercial retail ecosystems, and strengthen urban supply chains.

The initiative was marked by the signing of memorandums of understanding (MoUs) between MRT Jakarta and UOB Indonesia, as well as MRT Jakarta and Rebel APAC Pte. Ltd., during the MRT Jakarta TOD Investment Forum 2026 held in Singapore.

"The two MoUs explore potential cooperation regarding development studies for TOD areas around stations, particularly near Glodok and Kota, as well as creative financing options, retail and commercial ecosystems, and supply chains," MRT Jakarta Corporate Secretary Division Head Rendy Primartantyo said in Jakarta on Friday, October 2, 2026, as quoted by Antara.

Organized in collaboration with the Indonesian Embassy in Singapore, Surbana Jurong Group, and the Indonesia Investment Promotion Centre (IIPC) Singapore, the forum took place at the Indonesian Embassy in Singapore on Thursday, September 24.

Business Development Director of PT MRT Jakarta Farchad Mahfud signed the agreements, witnessed by Indonesian Ambassador to Singapore Hotmangaraja Panjaitan, Head of the Jakarta Regional Development Planning Agency (Bappeda) Atika Nur Rahmania, MRT Jakarta President Director Tuhiyat, and MRT Jakarta Commissioner Ahmad Yani.

Carrying the theme From Singapore to Jakarta: Capitalizing on Urban Density and Connectivity, the annual forum convened investors, property developers, financial institutions, and government representatives to explore urban transit partnerships across Jakarta.

Alongside the Glodok development, MRT Jakarta presented several prospective TOD projects, including the Kali Besar Heritage area, Ultimate Development Blok M, Blok M Interchange, XGL Mixed-Use, and the Lebak Bulus Interchange Bus Terminal, Park and Ride, and Mixed Use complex. ***
