Central Java and Fujian Partner to Boost MSME Exports & Protection

RRI.CO.ID, Semarang - The Central Java Provincial Administration has officially expanded market access for local commodities to China while strengthening investor protections. In new agreements with Fujian Province signed on Thursday, 23 July 2026, Central Java established a Joint Liaison Group to safeguard business rights and accelerate exports of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs); agricultural products; and regional fisheries.
Central Java’s Regional Secretary, Sumarno, in Semarang on Thursday expressed appreciation for Fujian Province’s trust through the collaboration. His remarks came during a visit by Fujian’s Vice Governor, Zhao Zenglian, and his delegation to Central Java.
To reinforce investment and trade cooperation, Central Java’s Investment Agency signed an agreement with Fujian Province’s Department of Commerce.
Key points of the cooperation include encouraging closer communication and collaboration between business communities and industry associations on both sides. Additionally, both parties will support visiting business delegations and utilize trade fairs for two-way investment and trade promotion.
Both parties also agreed to protect the rights and interests of companies in implementing investment and trade cooperation.
Information-sharing mechanisms will be enhanced through a shared information platform. In addition, a Joint Liaison Group will be formed to coordinate cooperation, monitor activity progress, and maintain routine and ad hoc communication.
A youth exchange agreement was also signed by the Head of Governance, Regional Autonomy and Cooperation Bureau of the Central Java Regional Secretariat together with the Head of the International Cooperation Bureau of Fujian Province.
The agreement calls for an annual youth exchange between Central Java and Fujian, lasting about 10 days, during which participants will study various priority sectors.
Sumarno thanked to Zhao Zenglian and his delegation for the visit. He expressed hope that Fujian’s investment at the Batang Integrated Industrial Zone (KITB) will continue to support inward investment to Central Java.
“Not only KITB, Central Java has many industrial zones. We greatly welcome Fujian’s investment and trade cooperation,” he said, as quoted by Antara.
He also expressed hope that more Central Java products, such as fisheries, agricultural goods, MSME products, and others, can be exported to Fujian and China.
Meanwhile, Fujian’s Vice Governor said the visit focused specifically on reviewing progress in several previously initiated cooperation sectors. From the sites visited, he observed that the cooperation has been well realized.
“We carried out several agendas in Central Java and visited KITB. The purpose of this trip is to focus on implementation of bilateral agreements. At KITB we also saw companies or tenants in the industrial zone and noted very good communication,” he said.
KITB is part of the Two Countries Twin Parks development between Indonesia and China and between Central Java and Fujian. The development of this industrial zone is expected to bring benefits to both parties. ***
