Ministry Dispatches Teams Monitoring Telco Networks Ahead of Homecoming

KBRN, Jakarta: Indonesia's Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs, Meutya Hafid, dispatched standby teams from the ministry and four Indonesian telecommunications operators on Tuesday (25/3/2025). The teams will monitor and maintain the quality of telecommunications services during this year's Eid homecoming.

In her remarks, Meutya reminded the team officers that the public needs a reliable communication network during their journeys to their hometowns, making their tasks crucial. She emphasized that they are the front line in ensuring the continuity of the communication system across the country.

"Together with the two deputy ministers and all staff at the ministry, I want to emphasize that this task is a critical service. This means the people going home for Eid will certainly need reliable telecommunications. This is a basic service," she said in a dispatching event at the ministry's office in Jakarta.

Minister Meutya added that the standby team is part of President Prabowo Subianto’s directive to ensure that all public facilities during the Eid and Nyepi holidays run safer, smoother, and easier. This year, the Islamic festive of Eid al-Fitr will be on Sunday (30/3/2025) or Monday (31/3/2025), while Nyepi -- the new year commemoration in Balinese Hinduism calendar -- will be on Saturday (29/3/2025).

"Let's monitor the (telecommunications) network together, accept complaints from the public if there are problems, and supervise the homecoming so that it is safe and makes it easier for the public," she said.

A total of 386 standby posts, including 35 posts from the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs, are planned to operate during the Eid homecoming and return season. Additionally, the ministry also dispatched 29 technical support vehicles to monitor telecommunications network quality.
